One year ago today my sweet husband, Jeremy, started with me full-time. As I sit and ponder on this amazingly successful past year, I am in awe of just how affirming the events of the last year have made our decision to be. When we decided to take such a leap of faith and go into the year ahead basically blind folded with moving our business in such a different and new direction (photographing weddings), we had no idea the wild ride the Lord had in store for us! We’ve been meditating on this simple scripture for the past twelve months and while it may seem so simple and easy to understand, we’ve learned that it’s difficult to comprehend and take it to heart the way that God desires us to do so. “No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it – What God has arranged for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 (The MSG) This tells us that the Lord has amazing things in store for His children and those who commit their lives to the Lord will prosper and live in victory! What an amazing thought that God isn’t a ‘barely get by’, ‘live in a rut’ or ‘settle for mediocrity’ God. No! He’s gracious and the scripture even says that “He longs to be good to us” (Isaiah 30:18) and “wants to give us the desires of our heart”. (Psalms 37:4). We’ve also learned this past year that the Lord actually had more in store for us than we desired for ourselves! With our decision made, we knew we needed to enlarge our vision and make a list of what may have seemed like unrealistic goals. By making this list of ‘dream accomplishments’, we were speaking words of faith into our future and you know what?! We had 5 major goals and every single one came to pass and exceeded our expectations! In the last year, we have booked 28 weddings for 2012 and 2013 which makes us 98% booked for 2012 and 4 of these are 2013 weddings – already! And what makes this even more insane…these amazing new clients have booked us without even seeing a wedding portfolio! WHAA? We’ve also booked several workshops, many of them being the biggest workshop that we offer. We also took a deposit just last week to confirm a portrait session for October (8 months away) AND, most importantly, our marriage has improved like you wouldn’t believe! Not only have I fallen even more madly in love with my husband but I’m in awe of this simple blessing - working along side with him on a daily basis – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many may think this is a bad idea and many say, “How can you stand so much of each other?!” but it’s been amazing! Jeremy is a natural born encourager and I’m usually easy to give into discouragement and impatience so this is even more assurance that Jeremy was the perfect man to marry!
Now, while it may seem like we’re boasting, we’re not. I’d like to say that we credit our successes to our mad talents and our savvy business skills but we simply can’t – whatsoever. The Lord deserves all the praise and the glory! Nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is possible without Him. (Ohhh, you like how I came up with that?!) We simply want to share the experiences and triumphs that we’ve had as a testimony to others about the power of positive thinking, a relationship with Christ and most of all – faith. We can’t contain our joy and gratitude! We’re constantly wanting to boast on our God and shout praises to Him! We want all of our clients to know that each one of you are such a blessing to us and we want to thank you for trusting us to capture your lives. What an honor! We love you dearly and are forever grateful!
And…just so you know….it’s also Jeremy’s birthday today! I’ve just spent the past hour wrapping his birthday loot (He’s gonna FREAK!) and we’re planning on spending the day off and enjoying the day. Jeremy wants to see Act of Valor (So guy-ish!) so we’ll do that and of course probably grab some Mexican food – a favorite of ours! I can’t wait to overfill my belly with chips and salsa and fajitas until I’m in pain. And we can’t forget the birthday cake! My momma’s making him a cinnamon roll cake which is sure to be amazing!
\\ EDIT // Jeremy opened his gifts this morning…notice how there’s two cinnamon rolls missing…those were breakfast. Nothing like dessert for breakfast! His favorite by far was the iPod nano watch…
We hope this post renews your faith!
Blessings,
Jeremy and Jenna Bran
